Bennetts Beads
My name is Alissa Bennett and I am the artisan behind BennettsBeads. I have recently moved to Santa Cruz, California to pursue my passion of creating beaded jewelry (along with a teaching career in Mathematics!). All of my creations are made with tender loving care and include genuine gemstones, crystals, glass seed beads, sterling silver, and other metals. Some of my favorites include Citrine (promotes abundance and prosperity along with individuality and creativity), Tourmaline, Turquoise, Carnelian, Smokey Quartz, Tiger Eye, and Jade.
All of my designs are original, as I have been teaching myself new patterns and techniques for the past 15 years. I hesitate to read instruction books or take classes, because I love the challenge of making up and figuring out various methods.
An east coaster at heart, I moved to San Francisco at the end of 2004 and have lived in the Bay area ever since, where I worked as an Analyst/Engineer by day and as an artist by night. Along with selling to retail stores (mostly small boutiques) on the East coast and around the Bay area, I travel around doing fairs, trunk shows, markets, and other events such as weddings, birthdays, and private parties.
I am looking to expand my client base to include more bridal parties after recent success. This way I can work with the Bride (or Bridesmaids) to custom design a perfect style, color, and design to match the wedding party.
